APPLE MACKBOOK 2009 backlight problem fix - Video

DESCRIPTION:
This video is just to show you where the main problem lies with the backlight issues in the 2008 and 2009 MACBOOK. It is most likely the little black cable which goes from the logic-board to the inverter which then powers the backlight. It is best if you can replace this delicate cable. But it is also possible to repair the cable and that is what I've done with both of mine. First remove the cable completely and by using a battery and a small bulb(light) you run a current through each of the 4 wires and back to the bulb to find which wire is faulty. Try not to pull the wires out of the 2 end plugs. If you find one wire is faulty then go about replacing it. You will need to remove the black silvery tape which is wrapped around part of it. It is relatively easy to replace the wires by cutting off the middle section and adding a new piece of wire. But do not expect the cable to fit exactly the same as before. The Macbook UNIBODY has a totally different cable(impossible to fix) so if your screen goes blank I would recommend that you remove the screen altogether so you can use it with an external monitor. Removing the screen will also mean no wireless connection, but it can certainly use internet via the lan cable connection.
