Ashes of Serenity formed in the coalfields of southern West Virginia in 2004. Teddy Murphy (Drums) and Roger Charles (guitar/vocals) came together to form a heart filled and adrenaline driving form of metal. Ultimately, after enduring several lineup changes that saw several talented musicians come and go, Ashes of Serenity has added Michael Francis (bass/vocals), Josh Eanes (guitar), and Nick Ross (vocals) to the group to give Ashes of Serenity its most solid lineup thus far and adding to the already unique sound.

Since the formation of the band, Ashes of Serenity has been performing at every opportunity, mesmerizing crowds with their high energy stage show. These shows have included performances with Trivium, Between the Buried and Me, I Wrestled a Bear Once, Asking Alexandria, The Ghost Inside, Upon a Burning Body, Byzantine, Farewell to Freeway, Carnifex, Emmure, The Red Chord, As Blood Runs Black, Too Pure to Die, and more. Ashes of Serenity has also spent time touring the United States, including a 13 date tour supporting Victory Records artist, Beneath the Sky.

Ashes of Serenity released four EP's in their history as a band. The first of which was "Saving Andrea" in 2006 which was a local success while having been recorded on a shoe string budget. The band's next two efforts, which combined sold over 3000 copies were both produced by Don "Studio D" DeBiase (Beneath the Sky, Luna Mortis) and engineered by Brandon Youngs. The band's fourth and most current release, Beneath The Crushing Tide, was produced, engineered and mastered by MiAH at The Sound lair in Knoxville, Tennessee and was released in July 2009.

Ashes of Serenity plans to keep touring and playing shows relentlessly with no sign of slowing down at all in the immediate future. They are aiming for the top and will reach it or die trying.
