Guitarist Anton Goudsmit is a much sought-after player who does amazing things with whatever music he is presented with or writes.
With his ardent and passionate guitar playing the versatile and innovating Anton Goudsmit developed into a musical chameleon without losing his recognizable and characteristic style.
His miscellaneous compositions are the base of poetic improvisations and flashy power performances.
A critic of the British 'Guardian' once stated; 'Goudsmit is the kind of musician that makes you wonder where the fire escape is'.
Anton performs internationally with the Ploctones, New Cool Collective ,Eric Vloeimans' Fugimundi trio with Harmen Fraanje (US tours in 2008 and 2010), Estafest (with Oene van Geel (v) ,Mete Erker (s) & Jeroen van Vliet (p)), Rare Jazz (with Arnold Dooyeweerd & Michael moore), Benjamin Herman quartet (with Ernst Glerum & Joost Patocka) and with Juju brothers (with Jos &Pablo dehaas) and forms a duo with the notorious dutch drummer Han Bennink.
Anton Goudsmit won the coveted Boy Edgar Prize in 2010 for his contribution and standing on the Dutch Jazz Scene and a 'Duiveltje' for being the best Dutch guitarist.
Today he can be reckoned as one of Europe's most influential guitarists.
