Dan Quigley’s early childhood was enriched by the presence of jazz legends Freddie Hubbard, Woody Shaw, Joe Henderson, John Scofield, Randy Brecker, Mulgrew Miller, Steve Turre, Rufus Reid, Dave Liebman and many more. His father Greg Quigley also plays the trumpet and toured these jazz greats to Australia for concerts and workshops in the late 70’s and early 80’s while Dan was still an infant.
Dan’s has been a professional musician for over 2 decades. He has performed with some of Australia’s finest musicians including Mike Nock, Dale Barlow, Judy Bailey, Craig Scott, Steve Brien, James Morrison, Col Loughnan, Grace Knight, David Campbell amongst many more.
Steeped in the hard swingin’ style of hard-bop, Dan’s trumpet playing expresses his own unique voice whilst simultaneously displaying a rich heritage of the jazz tradition.

Andrew Garton plays Mulligan/Baker
Andrew Garton and a group of local upstarts will present the music of the classic Gerry Mulligan/Chet Baker quartet. This performance will recreate the wonderful improvised contrapuntal style of the group and will feature famous tunes such as Walkin’ Shoes, Line for Lyons and My Funny Valentine.
