Casia Interviews Ana Miura at The Ottawa Folk Festival - Video
PUBLISHED:  Sep 22, 2009
DESCRIPTION:
I had the pleasure of meeting Ana Miura at this year's Ottawa Folk Festival. Considered Ottawa's Folk Darling, she was also this year's Gardening Coordinator. We had a chance to chat about gardening and the influences nature has on her music.

Ana has a very folksy, down to earth feel to her songs and it's almost impossible not to get carried away singing along to one of her melodies. She actually encourages it and the audience eagerly chanted along when charmed by Ana's calm, captivating voice. She has the type of personality that once you begin talking to her, you feel like you've known her for a very long time.

Ana has a strong background in conservatory piano and vocal training and taught herself how to play guitar. Last year she learned to play the ukulele after building one at the 2008 Ottawa Folk Festival in one of the workshops.

Ana's accolades are too numerous to mention here, so check out her Myspace page to learn more about her, I did: http://www.myspace.com/anamiura
