DESCRIPTION:
New 7" EP from this blazing Canadian hardcore punk band out of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I slept on this band for a while, this record being their second release on Warthog Speak Records after a 12" EP that was only available as a small pressing of 200 copies. Though a smaller format, Alienation manages to cram 11 songs onto a 33 RPM 7", including a Dicks cover. This thing is absolutely punishing from start to finish! The sheer speed of the band brings to mind bands like Siege or Negative FX, but the bounce of the slower songs (the word "slow" being used loosely) is more Poison Idea or 80s Finnish hardcore. It really seems like these are dudes who are fans of hardcore in general. When looking at the song titles, and also the vocals which kinda sound like the guy from The Repos, it seems like the band's attitude is that they just do not give a fuck. That said, a release this explosive shouldn't be ignored. Killer stuff.
