"If I recall, it was a very difficult to land this interview. The Times Leader was the only paper in the market that got a chance to speak with Mr. Charles, and unfortunately, his scheduled concert at the Scranton Cultural Center was later canceled due to a discrepancy between the promoter and the venue. But a few days prior, we were still able to have a remarkable phone conversation with the legendary artist where he shared his thoughts on music. You also can hear at the end of the conversation how he had invited me to come backstage and say hello to him at the show. I still have regrets about that concert being canceled and thus not having the chance to shake his hand. But I am so glad I was able to chat with him."
