Okay, this one requires a little bit of explaining, if just for the title alone. So, I was alerted to DJ Benji B's BBC/Maida Vale Studios session where he used a live string orchestra to apply their accompaniment, composed & conducted by Grant Windsor, combined with his live DJ mixing of various popular songs, both underground and mainstream. This song falls in the latter category as it's a song called "F*** U All the Time" by an artist named Jeremih. I don't listen to the radio but occasionally some songs slip through the cracks and make it to my ears and I recall this is the guy with the "Birthday Sex" song (is this the theme of all of his work?? smdh).

Anyway, I wouldn't normally touch a song like this, but Benji B and company came up with a dope arrangement for this and after listening a few times, I was compelled to add my two cents and take this from a remix into a "thr3mix" as I'm calling this lol

The original keys from the original track are rudimentarily mediocre at best, so I added my keys over it to fill it up more with nicer chords, then I added an electric bassline that I felt was really needed, even though where it should drop out, I thought was effective and left the empty spaces alone. Then I added a nice warm synth pad near the end, and edited it down to take out the speaking parts and faded in at the intro and delayed at the outro.

A lot of younger people listen to the mainstream stuff like the original and honestly don't know what they are listening to is a very watered down version of both lyrics and music, but think it's amazing. I'm not saying there aren't mainstream artists that are talented, but this cookie-cutter crap doesn't even begin to convey what true musicianship and lyricism is. They are creative in their approach at times, but you can only do but so much with the same worn-out topic and sounds.

I call this an experiment of good, Better, BEST...but that's just my opinion, of course ;o)
