So I like, started this channel in middle school and I’m going to university now isn’t that just the darndest thing

Yep, it’s that time of year again folks! ElectricMudkip has gotten older, and to celebrate its happy fourth here’s a remix of a theme that’s very special to me! :)

Hidden Land is such a melancholic, whimsical piece so my intention with this interpretation was to flip the coin and provide a fun perspective to the melody. It’s dramatic maybe, but definitely more uplifting than the original. I had a lot of fun designing the core idea for this mix, being the hook-melody (is that what you'd call it? idk) -from-source-turned-energetic-bassline-during-chorus. I thought it would make for an interesting twist. My other idea was to have it mirror last year’s channel birthday mix, which was uplifting trance, but I backed out of that one for fear of it sounding like a copy-cat. Anyway, I’m content with the final result, and hope it satisfies!


I think I’m going to have some goals this year for ElectricMudkip. Like, not subscriber goals or whatever, but quality/quantity/secret music goals that I hope to sort out as the year goes. I bet I’m going to be busy with real life stuff and it’ll get in the way a lot, but I don’t know man. I suppose even if my plans run into next year, that’s cool—I just want to see if I can push the bar a bit sometime instead of maintaining the status quo. I think that’d be pretty neat, if I could do something interesting like an EP or a successful redesign of the mascot & banner for example, etc. Just a thought. Thanks for all the support guys. :3
