DESCRIPTION: This song was written by the talented songwriter Julie Gold. Bette Midler had a fairly large hit with it, but I prefer Nanci Griffith's version. This is from her 1987 album "Lone Star State Of Mind" (wow, has it been 25 years?), an album loaded with great songs, most of them written or co-written by Nanci. I believe it''s Mac MacAnally singing the nice harmony. And perhaps playing acoustic guitar. Mark O'Connor put down his fiddle and played lead acoustic guitar and mandola. John Jarvis on piano. Not sure who else was involved on this track. This album has the best of the best musicians: John Catchings, Bela Fleck, Emory Gordy, Lloyd Green, Roy Huskey, Jr., and other talented musicians.
