27 November 2016, Sven Hoscheit won the 3rd Prize and Press Prize of TROMP 2016. "A player who really enjoys playing, shows this enjoyment to us, the fun of making music. A natural musician. Very sensible, very personal repertoire choices. A good ear for colour and for groove." (TROMP 2016 jury)

In November 2016, 25 of the most talented percussionists from all over the world participated in the TROMP International Percussion Competition Eindhoven to gain a spot in the Final. The participants were selected by a international jury of acclaimed artists including Christian Dierstein (Germany), Momoko Kamiya (Japan), Arnold Marinissen (The Netherlands), Mark Pekarsky (Russia), Yi-Ping Yang (Taiwan), Nancy Zeltsman (USA) and jury chairman Lucas Vis (The Netherlands).
