The title and lyrics of Chance to Shine were inspired by the book Encore Performance, How One Woman's Passion Helped a Town Tap Into Happiness, written by Vicki G. Riordan and Brian S. Riordan. Vicki founded and created Vicki's Tap Pups, an adult-only tap program that evolved into America's largest adult tap group. The music video stars over 100 women and men from Vicki's Tap Pups to bring the energy and attitude to life that Chance to Shine represents.
