Album Review: Deltron 3030 (self titled) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 10, 2009
DESCRIPTION:
Released in 2000 on 75ark records, Del Tha Funkee Homosapian, Kid Koala and Dan The Automator released this sci fi hop album and raised the bar for hip hop so high that no one else ever came close to it's creativity ever.

Ok, that may or may not be an exaggeration, but regardless, this album rules. It represents everything good and awesome about music, regardless of the genre.

Deltron 3030 excels at creativity, groovy hooks, awesome beat structures and thorough lyrical concepts.

Del is at the top of his game on the mic here, hardly ever lagging, continuously spitting about millenniums, planets, alien enemies, computer virus, spaceships, corrupted alien alien rulers and so on. Few MC's even come close to matching the delivery shown here. Intelligent and engaging, never boring.

Dan and Kid Koala are also on point, delivering awesome space age hip hop beats. Lots of scratches and big space station bass, creating an almost tangible, futuristic feel throughout the whole album. The use of new wave beats and classic rock samples blends really well together, making the entire album a pleasure to listen to.

Tons of guest stars appear on this album, too. Sean Lennon, Damon Albarn, Mr. Lif, Peanut Butter Wolf and that's just naming a few. The album only benefits from these appearances, they never weight the record down or deviate from the albums established themes.

Deltron 3030 is a must have for fans any kind creative sounding music and fans of epic music in general. I pity the fool that hasn't listened to Deltron 3030 yet.

Shame on you !!
