The Republic of Macedonia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest six times, with the name FYR Macedonia, debuting in 1998 (see ESC1998). Macedonia is the only former Yugoslavian nation to have never finished in the Top 10 at Eurovision.

Although Macedonia came through the semifinal in 2004, 2005 and 2006, the country will again have to go through the semifinal in 2007.

Macedonia's worst placements were in Birmingham, England on May 8th, 1998, when Vlado Janevski placed 19th with his song "Ne Zori Zoro", and in Tallinn, Estonia on May 25th, 2002 when Karolina Goceva placed 19th with her song "Od Nas Zavisi".

Macedonia's best placement was in Athents, Greece on May 20th, 2006, when Elena Risteska placed 12th with her song "Ninanajna".
