Cameron Harper takes you Behind Closed Doors at the animal hospital at the Memphis Zoo to watch the zoo's medical team in action. A female orangutan is put under anesthesia for a physical exam as part of a worldwide species preservation project. It's a rare event when a great ape is immobilized for a procedure like this and even rarer when a news team is allowed to record it. The Memphis Zoo is one of only a few in the country with a fully outfitted hospital to handle everything from animal emergencies to planned major surgery.
