Taiko, Japanese drumming, dates back centuries. Traditionally, taiko was used for ceremonial purposes such as in the battlefield and farming and also for celebrations of life and death. With each hit on the drum, the vibrations would send out a calling to the spirits above to bring strength, growth and well being. Today, taiko has become one of the most artistic forms of percussion, because of its mix of grace and power.
