Cuban Hip-Hop All Stars & Zero Plastica present "CuBASS"

AFTER A SUCCESSFUL SUMMER TOUR IN CUBA, THE ITALIAN RAP GROUP PRESENTS A NEW ALBUM FEATURING THE BEST CUBAN MC'S AND A NEW DOPE VIDEO.

After flying to The Big Apple to be the first Italians MC's to perform in The Bronx --cradle of the Hip-Hop Culture-, Zero Plastica didn't stop there. In 2013, Zero Plastica travelled to Cuba to perform at the 9thHip-Hop Symposium of Cuba, one of the largest events of its kind in Central and South America.

Cuba's primary newspaper El Granma wrote: "Almost 20 years after Jovanotti gave a sold-out concert on the great stairs of Havana University, the flag of Italian rap has returned to wave in Cuba once again: this time, those standing up for the urban culture of this European country are the members of Zero Plastica".

Signed to American indie label Nomadic Wax, Zero Plastica is ready to present it's latest offering, a collaborative record made between Italy and Cuba entitled CuBASS. The album brings the Italian underground hip hop duo together with some of the best emcees in Cuba. This project was born thanks to the singer/percussionist Sergio Limuti, who put together this effort with beats co-produced by Dj Nio (Zero Plastica). Sergio has been to Cuba many times and was the first European ever to play Afro Cuban music at Festival Jazz of Havana back in 1991. In 2013, with guidance from Sergio, Zero Plastica and a host of Cuban emcees toured the island, rocking six concerts. Highlights included performances at the world famous Palacio de La Rumba and Delirio Habanero, a breathtaking venue on Plaza de La Revoluciòn.

The "CuBASS" project features Cuban Rap heavyweights Supersonica Obsesiòn, Krudas Cubensi, Brebaje Man, El Poeta Liriko, Onda Livre, Charlito Mucha Rima, La AKdemia, Las K-Lidas, La Fina, and some of the best R&B singers such as Los Niche and Danay Suarez, described by many as "The Cuban Jill Scott". The classic boom-bap beats invoke Balkan and Indian sounds with influence from Afro Cuban percussions, cool reggae vibes, hardcore rap and electro.

After the first video -"Flow Flow"-, the second single from "CuBASS" is 'Mucho RAP' and features a heavy beat produced by Nio and the multi-textured flow of Lure and Leli of K-lidas, the only female rap group from Holguìn, Cuba. Leli is a super-notorius hardcore amazon with incredible extra-beat. The video was shot by Nio in the neighborhood of Alamàr, where the Cuban Hip-Hop scene was born back in 1995.
