Mapex Drummer YoungPete Alexander's Interview with G98.7FM's Mark & Jem. YoungPete's incredible talent behind a drum kit has not gone unnoticed; he has toured with artists such as Rachelle Farrell, Lloyd, Jully Black, Janelle Monae, William Murphy, Edwin McCain, Kirk Franklin, and the band he once helped launch, El Pus who were signed to Virgin Music. These tours saw YoungPete performing in venues across the US, Canada, Europe and Asia. More recently, YoungPete has added production and songwriting to his long list of strengths and talents, launching his own production aptly labeled "Underground Xplosion Entertainment". Having been producing now for over 4 years, YoungPete explains that his motivation for pursuing endeavors in production and songwriting lay in his desire to be unbridled; to be free to create music as a whole and allow that element to be felt while behind the drum kit. As a producer, YoungPete has already achieved impressive accomplishments: He has teamed with one of Canada's top vocalists and songstresses Juno award Winner Jully Black , and played an integral role in the creation of the songs "Running", which was nominated for a 2009 Juno Awards, as well as "Recalculate", a song chosen to be a part of the opening ceremonies at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, B.C For the past 5 years he has served as Drummer, Musical director and the sole producer for Jully Black where together they are
known as "The Officials."
