Yungchen Lhamo is a Tibetan singer who first found her voice when she was at a refugee camp in Dharmasala, India (she walked for months across Himalaya from Tibet, avoiding capture after a political demonstration in 1989). She then moved to Sydney with her husband and recorded a debut album 'Tibetan Prayer.' She was then signed by Real World Records, a recording company owned by Peter Gabriel. This song is taken from her 1998 album 'Coming Home.'

The message of this song, according to her, is "finding your path and following it...often, the things we think make us happy have no real meaning in our lives. There is a way of thinking, of living that has meaning, and it is the happiness found on this path that we really should be searching for."
