Roland Johnson & Soul Endeavor at the Blues City Deli - Cold Women with Warm Hearts - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 22, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Roland Johnson and Soul Endeavor (Roland Johnson - vocals, Lew Winer III - sax, Eugene Johnson - bass, Al Barnes - drums, Steve Martin - guitar) played the Thursday Nite House Party at the Blues City Deli on December 12, 2013. This evening at the deli was so quintessentially St. Louis and the BCD - the place was stuffed to the doors with sandwich eating, beer drinking, dancing and partying Deli-zens elated for this show from Roland and the guys - a local favorite and guilty pleasure for blues purists who many times catch them by accident and find out how absolutely wonderful they are. And Roland Johnson is one of the coolest guys on earth - the others in his band are right along with him. They are doing the Albert King chestnut "Cold Women with Warm Hearts" (written by Mark Rice). This is my favorite song and video I took this evening. Shot on location at Vinnie Valenza's World Famous Blues City Deli in the Benton Park neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri by Reed R.
