DESCRIPTION:
Oh WOW look what I stumbled upon... This is the reference to a track I was suppose to do with producer Willy Carson of "Supreme Kingz". I met him in 2007 at Sam Ash in King of Prussia. I gave him a copy of my just released
solo mixtape "Goblets of Fire" & he gave me a copy of his crew's Cd "Diverse Verses". We both liked what we heard & stayed in contact over 2 years. Finally he sent me this track, I wrote to it & we set up a session. I've always felt I soured our working relationship because 1. I was very late to the session because I couldn't find his studio. 2. Because besides trying to rush the session I had allergies & the Benadryl put a nasty dry patch in my throat which screwed up my voice tone & breathing. Therefore my takes were just trash, lol. YES.. I do have a weird unorthodox rapping style that most people do not like at all BUT it made me look real amateurish. I don't even think I still have the rough mix he made because it was that bad to me. I then recorded this reference at home so he could have an idea of how it should've sounded. It was awhile later due to my work sched & he said he liked it BUT had something else in mind for the hook. Also that he thought I didn't contact him because I was pissed we had to cut the session so short. I told him why I thought he might've been pissed, we laughed about it & made plans to move forward. A new session never materialized & we fell out of touch leaving me with only this version. He also asked that I not release this version & I kept my word... Until now. I'm releasing it because it's tight & in hopes it gets back to him somehow so we can pick up where we left off. I WILL GLADLY REMOVE IT IF YOU CONTACT ME, WILLY CARSON, lol. I made sure to bring my A game lyrically since the beat & his crew are so dope while still allowing myself to play around with patterns like I love to albeit at a reduced magnitude. Note: Since this was only meant to be a reference plus just to learn my breaths & patterns it is a lil sloppy. I reopenend the session to mix/master it since it was really neither beforehand. My vocals are too echoey because I was rushing & didn't turn off the echoes in my present personal presets when I went over them & they already initially have some BUT it's just a reference so who cares. The hook would've been reduced to an 8 bar bridge to close out the outro & replace with a singing hook by amazing vocalist & my lil homie Magali singing about how "You Can't Stop Me' which was also the name of the beat when I received it. This hook(sans the GFK sample) is also a variation of the one on my original "Supremecy" recorded in 2002 for my "SplitIdentityPersonalityCrisis" Ep. I reused it because I thought it would be a nice shoutout to the "Supreme Kingz" crew. SK all day!!!! Sorry Fif, I feel your movement BUT the only SK I know before them is my homie Justice SK from the group "Underworld", lol.
