This is a video of Professor John performing his arrangement of Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine" at Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta, GA with the help of Sean William Russel Smith of ...And the Sky Stood Still and Kamilah Amir-Al-Sharif on October 15, 2015.
Bassist/Producer Professor John has a very unique sound. The combination of live bass guitar, real instrumentation and electronic synths sets Professor John apart from similar artists. John’s electric bass guitar performance is influenced the playing of Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, and Stanley Clarke, yet John’s background in hip-hop and R&B production makes for a one of a kind performance. Professor John was chosen as one of Atlanta’s Top 3 RAW Artists of the Year in 2013 (www.rawartists.org). John has played in the metro-Atlanta for more than ten years at venues including Terminal West at King Plow, Hard Rock Cafe Atlanta, Piedmont Park Arts Festival, Eddie’s Attic, Red Light Café, and Smith’s Olde Bar.
