DESCRIPTION:
Boris Karloff (1887-1969) narrates in this 1950s-era recording of Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf," Op. 67. The Vienna State Opera Orchestra is conducted by Mario Rossi. Issued on the Vanguard label, serial number VSD 2010. (I am not sure where the Tiblisi Symphony Orchestra- at right, came from.) This studio recording appeared originally as a 78 rpm single from Mercury's "Childcraft" label.
