PRESENTED BY MICKEY

Victoria Hume was born in Brighton, grew up in Dorset and now lives in London. She has been writing and performing music for twelve years, alongside working in the National Health Service as an arts manager.

Her new album, Landing, has taken three years to make -- it's a mixture of studio recordings (the Garden studio in Shoreditch) with music made in her home studio, east London.

Some of the songs are easy and romantic, some are more complex and ambiguous. She was influenced early on by poets - especially Sylvia Plath and Emily Dickinson - and in some ways their influence has stuck, cementing a faith in a kind of inner visual landscape that guides most of the songwriting.

For the second time on this album she has worked with regular collaborators Quinta (Bat for Lashes, Phil Selway) on saw and viola and Chris Letcher on guitar, as well as drummer Wesley Gibbens, with some additional bass work from Andrew Joseph.

Her previous album, Limbs & Digits, was released in 2009. She has performed all over the world, although generally without the glamour that implies.
