Revival is a Southbay San Diego Roots Reggae band. Our members grew up near "La Frontera" or the border between Mexico and the United States. Our songs cover real issues dealing with our Faith, the daily struggle of life, political oppression and love. Our members come from different musical backgrounds, everyone of us taking different paths to get to this point in our lives where conscious music is what matters. Jarod, our former vocalist/guitarist started off playing with the band One where he met Eric, Jeff, Chris and Louie. Eric the drummer, started with a love for all music and started with a reggae band named Dreads Next Door were he met Jeff, the keyboardist, and were both in the band One after. Jeff has been a reggae musician since being the camera man for Stranger and is a founding member along side Eric and Louie. Louie, the bass player has been in number of indie rock bands and got his reggae start with One and later had a key role in forming Revival. Chris, the conga player got his start as a percussionist with One as well. Rob a long time friend and a huge fan of Latin jazz, joined Revival as a percussionist, playing the bongos/timbales and the blocks among many other percussion instruments. Manzi, the trumpet player joined Revival a bit later. He came from playing in Southbay reggae bands such as Roots Covenant, Dub Shack, and One as well. Jeff started playing trombone with revival in mid 2011 and he brings a fresh crisp vibe to the horn section. Revival's original vocalist left in early 2010.. opening the door for long time big timers Danny Dread, AK and Jesse Crucial to step in and keep Revival going... they have sinced stepped back and let the next generation of Revival take over.. lead by Selecta Fari, who brings a new life to the stage with his unique style... Dawta Mara is the one that holds the vocal section down not only doing lead vocals on her songs but bring sweet harmonies to the rest of the songs..Davey Roots later Joined Revival and fit right in with his on consicious style also holding donw the guitar.. Revival is a 10 piece musical family... come out and experiance it for yourself!!

Revival has had the pleasure of playing venues all over San Diego, such as Cane's, The House Of Blues, Sound Wave, 710 Beach Club, Winston,Belly Up and Gallagher's. We have shared the stage with Pato Banton, HR of Bad Brains, Ooklah The Moc, Mishka, Passafire, One Drop, Dirty heads and Iration, along with great local bands, such as Stranger, Roots Covenant, Psydcar, Bredren, South Town Generals, River Bottom Rockers, Tribal Theory, HI Roots, Organix and Cualli.
