DESCRIPTION: John Wayne's opening scene of 1971's Big Jake. Some cattle ranchers are attempting to hang a sheep herder who they believe are infringing on their grazing land. Jake is content to leave them alone until he witnesses them abusing a young boy and rides in to save the day.
This is the scene that made me a John Wayne fan.
Big Jake - 1971: The McCandles ranch is run over by a gang of cutthroats led by the evil John Fain. They kidnap little Jacob McCandles and hold him for a million dollar ransom. There is only one man who is brave enough and smart enough to bring him back and that man is Big Jake.
