Brooklyn based singer/songwriter/guitarist Ward White began writing and recording original music in junior high school, in lieu of learning basic math and rudiments of hygiene. Since arriving in New York City in 1995, he has released three full length albums and two EPs, garnering praise from local and national press; reviewing his 1998 debut, Artificial Light, AllMusic Guide said, "a truly unique piece of work. leaves listeners virtually slammed by the masterful music." Ward's follow up full length, Medicine, received notable mentions from Splendid.com, calling him "the best unsigned artist I've heard all year. The songs of Ward White are literary. You get scenes, precious dirty moments that might have been snatched off the pages of Raymond Carver".

In 2001 Ward released a second EP, Lovely Invalids: New York Press commented "Ward White comes across as something of a musical John Cheever." His follow up Maybe, But Probably Not, was featured on NPR, and reviewed favorably in Time Out New York. After a two year break, Ward returned with Pulling Out, featuring contributions from bassist Catherine Popper (Ryan Adams, Norah Jones) and keyboardist Joe McGinty (Psychedelic Furs, Losers Lounge). Lucid Culture.com said of Pulling Out, "not just one of the best albums of 2008, it's one of the best albums of the decade."

Most recently, Ward and renowned keyboardist/composer Joe McGinty collaborated on an original album, McGinty & White Sing Selections From The McGinty & White Songbook, which has been featured on WFMU, East Village Radio, and has been named on several 2009 "Best Of" lists, including Limewire and New York Press, where critic J.R. Taylor named it one of the five best albums of the year. McGinty & White have made several appearances as the featured musical guests for Upright Citizens Brigade.

Ward is a regular singer with the long running Loser's Lounge series, crooning gems from the likes of David Bowie, Dolly Parton, Michael Jackson and Burt Bacharach. In addition to writing and recording original material, Ward is currently playing guitar and singing backup with The Paparazzi (solo project of Cat Power bassist, Erik Paparozzi), and playing bass and singing with songwriters Edward Rogers, and Pete Kennedy (The Kennedys).
