♥ An inspiring, creative and intuitive drummer, Don Gardner always dazzled the audience with his chops. He had this electrically charged spontaneity that brought a burst of excitement to every room and effortlessly added an extra spark to the music. An inventive drummer with a certain joie de vivre he always provided a certain hair-raising exuberance. By his early twenties, Don was already drumming for Tom Jones, Suzanne Somers, Sister Sledge & Mitch Rider. Don toured the US and Europe having played and recorded with a long list of great rock, pop, blues, Latin & jazz musicians including Bela Fleck, Annie Lenox, David Tronzo. Tom Jones, Mitch Rider & the Detroit Wheels, Lucy Lawless, Grover Kemble, Lesley Gore and many others. Don appeared on TV, radio and at a huge variety of venues from CBGB's to the Rainbow Room. The Tuesday night jazz gig at Nobody's Inn started with Don, Martin Pizzarelli and John Pizzarelli playing together every week until the Pizzarellis went on the road. Don inherited JazzNite and he invited different musicians every week. Over the years there had been a huge and varied list of talented and well known musicians who made the trip to Nobody's Inn which was located on Franklin Turnpike in Mahwah, NJ.
