Erik Sandberg is the lead singer and songwriter with Wake The President, one of the most promising bands in Glasgow. The band's core are Erik and his twin brother Bjorn, who have been championing real independent music in the city for the last few years. They have just released their second album. Zumutung, on their own label, We Can Still Picnic (also the name of a club night they run at Glasgow's Mono, a bar/record shop which is a focal point for Glasgow's independent music scene). The album is a classic collection of Scottish indie pop, buoyant guitar lines intertwining with darker lyrics about love, loss and debauchery.
