An illustrious career stretching over two decades has seen Chico Shuella become one of Israel's most respected and sought after DJs and producers. Operating under his Chicola production moniker, he has transformed the underground house scene in his homeland while making giant strides on a global scale. One time collector of over 10,000 pieces of vinyl, Chicola's international DJ appearances alongside domestic residencies at "Haomann 17" and his sets played on Laurent Garnier's radio show have been coupled with a production career that has seen successful releases on US imprints, Tommy Boy and KTA in the early, post-millennium years.
Fast-forward to 2011 and it is Chicola's passion for the underground sound that is central to his musical DNA pulling him back to the modern production scene with renewed vigour and energy. Already close friends with fellow countrymen, Guy Mantzur, Khen and Sahar Z, 2013 and 2014 saw the release of the hugely impressive EPs including a debut with latter on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat imprint followed, while a further collaboration with his fellow countryman hit Guy J's Lost & Found label.
2015 saw no let up in Chicola's rise to the summit of the underground dance scene. Top selling EPs for both Sudbeat and Plattenbank has found personal favour in Sasha's DJ sets with further platinum support following from Digweed, Tenaglia and Dubfire – the Midas touch landing firmly on the Chicola studio. Furthermore, gigs across the globe in Europe and Israel have lit up Guy J's sold out Lost & Found parties including appearances at Holland's ADE in 2014 & 15 and a London performance with Nick Warren.
