The last video recording of Vysotsky: April 16, 1980. He died on a Friday morning, July 25, 1980. The song he is performing is "Kupola."

Vladimir Vysotsky wrote and sung in the Soviet Union between 1959 and 1980. He wrote over 1000 songs, and though he could never have official advertising because of government censorship, news of his music spread from Odessa to Vladivostok, making him a legend in Russian society.

If you want me to add a specific song here so you can play it on your profile, message me and I will do my best to answer all requests.

You can download Vysotsky's songs here:

If you cannot read Russian but know the name of the song you wish to download, message me and I will provide you with the page and link.

Also, I'm pretty tired of Indie bands trying to add me just to have another obscure artist on their friend's page. If you feel I have unjustly removed you from my friends list, feel free to message me, but I am rather unsympathetic towards non-Russian speakers who claim to love Vysotsky's music. I did not remove all of you however, and have left those I feel to be true in their appreciation of this great man.
