Vladimir Vysotsky

The last video recording of Vysotsky: April 16, 1980. He died on a Friday morning, July 25, 1980. The song he is performing is "Kupola."



Vladimir Vysotsky wrote and sung in the Soviet Union between 1959 and 1980. He wrote over 1000 songs, and though he could never have official advertising because of government censorship, news of his music spread from Odessa to Vladivostok, making him a legend in Russian society.
