"Interlude" is a single by Morrissey and Siouxsie Sioux released in August 1994. It was presented under the banner of "Morrissey & Siouxsie".
This collaboration was rated by Spin magazine in a list of The top 10 one-off team-ups of all time.
"Interlude" was recorded during the recording sessions for Morrissey's Vauxhall and I album, and was produced by Morrissey guitarist and musical director Boz Boorer. The original version of the song was recorded in 1968 by the female singer Timi Yuro as the title track for the film of the same name.

Morrissey first contacted Siouxsie in the early 90s with a view to recording a duet with her. In 1993 he sent her a tape with some potential songs he had selected. All were numbers initially sung by female singers like Nancy Sinatra and Dionne Warwick. Siouxsie picked this ballad and Morrissey agreed. The sessions went well and Boz Boorer later described his collaboration with Siouxsie as "complete joy".

Soon after the recording, however, the two singers fell out with one another regarding the content of the video. Ultimately, the video shoot never took place and the whole project was put on ice for a few months. EMI then threatened to not promote it without the existence of a video support. What's more, although a winter song, against all expectations EMI finally released "Interlude" in the summer of 1994.

Steven Patrick Morrissey (born 22 May 1959), commonly known by his last name, Morrissey, is an English singer and lyricist. He rose to prominence in the 1980s as the lyricist and vocalist of the band The Smiths. The band was highly successful in the United Kingdom but broke up in 1987, and Morrissey began a solo career, making the top ten of the UK Singles Chart on ten occasions. His first solo album, 1988's Viva Hate, entered the UK albums chart at number one.
He is widely regarded as an important innovator in the indie music scene; music magazine NME considers Morrissey to be "one of the most influential artists ever", while The Independent says "most pop stars have to be dead before they reach the iconic status he has reached in his lifetime". In 2004, Pitchfork Media called him "one of the most singular figures in Western popular culture from the last twenty years".

Time is like a dream
And now, for a time, you are mine
Lets hold fast to the dream
That tastes and sparkles like wine

Who knows (who knows)
If its real
Or just something were both dreaming of
What seems like an interlude now
Could be the beginning of love

Loving you
Is a world thats strange
So much more than my heart can hold
Loving you
Makes the whole world change
Loving you, I could not grow old

No, nobody knows
When love will end
So till then, sweet friend ...

Time is like a dream
And now, for a time, you are mine
Lets hold fast to the dream
That tastes and sparkles like wine

Who knows (who knows)
If its real
Or just something were both dreaming of ?
What seems like an interlude now
Could be the beginning of love
What seems like an interlude now
Could be the beginning of love
What seems like an interlude now
Could be the beginning of love...
