Edge: Corrugated Box (pt.1) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jan 02, 2010
DESCRIPTION:
Ross performs "Edge:Corrugated Box", a piece for multi-percussion and tape written by Bruce Hamilton. This is the first 9 min. which is continued in pt. II. McGinnis uses headphones to monitor the tape while the mics help blend the live and recorded timbres to the house system. Ross said " Fun piece to play, slammin' composition, but you gotta stay fit and keep your head clean to execute the music properly. I was scared to take aspirin 'cause I didn't want it dulling any senses that would be necessary to pick up a sound cue or a vibration. You're really isolated with the headphones, there is no click to cheat with, it's kind of like freediving in melted vaseline around a lot of sharp rocks"
