The Danberrys recently returned to the Blue Plate Special stage. Hailing from Nashville, Dorothy Daniel and husband Ben DeBerry come together to create a unique entwining of styles. They brought a full band this time, with Vanessa McGowan on bass and George Jackson on fiddle. Their latest album “Give & Receive” (2016) received two Independent Music Award nominations for Best Americana Album and Best Country Song (Let Me Ride), and one win for Best Bluegrass Song (Long Song). The Danberrys took the opportunity to introduce some brand new songs to the Blue Plate audience, including this one, called “The Mountain”, which was co-written by Ben and Dorothy.
