UPDATE* December 5, 2014

So I have been meaning to upload a new video of the dino pet lighting up and being cool, but I unfortunately ran into some issues.

First off, the pets that came in this video had actually died during the shipping process. I was following the instructions, but after a week and a half of not lighting I knew that something was wrong. Turns out these little guys are very temperature sensitive. I live in Las Vegas, so the package being left out for a day during the September heat had killed my pets. BioPop was kind enough to send me replacements but please make sure : HAVE THESE GUYS SHIPPED TO YOUR WORK OR MAKE SURE YOU ARE HOME TO PICK THESE GUYS UP AND TAKE THEM INSIDE ASAP. Also if you live in a hot environment you should probably order them in a cooler season.

So after a few weeks, I ended up receiving my new pets and they worked the first night. I added the pets and added a little bit of food to start out. After the first 12 hours in total darkness and 12 hours in light, they had lit up the next night. PLEASE NOTE: WHEN KEPT IN DARKNESS, MAKE SURE IT IS PITCH BLACK. I PUT THEM IN THE BATHROOM DRAWER, TURNED OF THE LIGHT IN THE BATHROOM AND CLOSED THE DOOR. A good time to check and shake is maybe a few hours after you have kept them in the dark.

But the issue for me was that the light was actually very dim. I tried recording it but it was so dim that my camera didn't even pick up the light. On top of that, they would not even last that long lighting. After a few shakes in complete darkness, maybe the 7th time shaking them it was barely lighting. So it seems like they lose their brightness faster than expected. This was a pretty big disappointment because my expectation was that they would be able to light throughout the night with periodical shakes in relatively dark settings. Instead this was about a 30 second light show that would only show in complete darkness. After taking care of them for the first month I was about to add a little more food and hopefully they would get brighter with time, but unfortunately they stopped lighting all together and died. I follow the instructions to a T, Room temperature always, 12 hours exactly, total darkness, and low temp florescent lighting. So after 2 batches I would have to say this is definitely not worth the investment for me. Hopefully others have had better luck than me, but after 2 tries my pet is no more.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask and comment on here. Or if you have had better results than me please feel free to comment. I have not contact BioPop again after this second batch yet.
