DESCRIPTION:
"... this is actually our very first gig together..." Former Uriah Heep songwriter / singer, keyboardist and guitarist Ken Hensley and his primarily Norwegian band Live Fire performing the Uriah Heep hit "The wizard''" live at Rathausplatz, Bad Homburg (near Frankfurt), Germany on August 9, 2013.

"The wizard'" was written by Ken Hensley and Mark Clarke and originally appeared on the Uriah Heep 1972 Bronze Records / Mercury Records studio album "Demons and wizards", produced by Gerry Bron at Lansdowne Studios, London.

The song was also released as a single and became a #34 hit (West Germany) and #8 (Switzerland). The song was covered a.o. by Blind Guardian.

Ken Hensley was born as Kenneth William David Hensley on August 24, 1945 in Plumstead, South East London, England. He has played in bands on stage and in the studio since 1960 including the Gods (feat. Mick Taylor of the Rolling Stones), Head Machine, Toe Fat, Weed, Shotgun, Blackfoot, W.A.S.P., Cinderella, Bruce Cameron, Ken Hensley / John Lawton Band, Free Spirit, John Wetton (of Asia fame) a.o. From 1970 until 1980 he has been a member of the legendary English Rock band Uriah Heep.
