DESCRIPTION:
Found this at a small antique store today and noticed it was recorded in Auburn, only about 45 minutes from where I live and actually have family living there. Picked it up not expecting much, but i'm glad I was wrong. After I listened to it, I did some research, found out he was from Syracuse, and that this was recorded in the early 50's before Rock N Roll was 'created' and to also find out that Mr Cavallo was white. I found out he was a fan of Louis Jordan and put together a R&B/Boogie band of his own. He couldn't get booked at any of the white venues so he took a chance at the black clubs and was a huge success. Label BSD was made especially for local talent who wanted to record. The studio was in the basement of the owner, Angelo Pergolito's, house. Jimmy Cavallo is still with us and still performing today. Hope you enjoy it!
