UniVerse was born in Nicaragua, Central America, and migrated to the states at the tender age of 3. His parents and grandparents were heavily involved in government affairs at the time of the guerilla revolution in Nicaragua in the 70’s. So it was no longer a safe place for his family. He ended up, to his bewilderment, in the sunny city of Los Angeles, California. The city of dreams, and a few other things.
Music is his calling. Or should I say "my" calling. And your calling since you’re here, reading and listening. We all love music, it’s embedded in us. Something to do with rhythem and cycles of things. Seasons, planets spinning and rotating around each other, humans living and dieing like everything else in nature. Everything taking place at it’s appropriate time, and always in cycles. Everything recycles, and so do the beats. Time and rhythem are premordial. It was here before us and will be long after. So something about sectioning time (or the illusion of it) into procussive sounds and pieces excites us and hypnotizes us to the highest degree. I think that’s why we love and need music so much.
I was no exception. I just love it. I don’t care what kind it is, if there’s someone doing it and showing some degree of skill with it, I’m automatically drawn to listen. I quote Jimi Hendrix "music is meant to be appreciated, not credicized". Unfortunately Hip Hop and it’s gradual commercialization have fallen victim to a bad rap (no pun intended). The reason so many people don’t know that there really is good Hip Hop out there in the tradition of all good music that has emerged thoughout history is that the "powers that be" make dam sure that the conscious Hip Hop doesn’t get the exposure it deserves. Because they know that that could lead to an all out conscious revolution. Music as powerful as Hip Hop is a dangerous thing to those who strive for control of the people of earth. It exposes the truth, and relays it to the ones who need to hear it most. That’s scary shit to a government that built it’s empire off of lieing, killing, stealing, and enslaving. And then covering it up in the form of a miseducation system and subliminally controlling media (namely Hollywood).
But alas, this is suppossed to be about me. But why me? When I’m you, and your me. And we’re one. Exactly what a consumer society can’t have you going around thinking. Because if you did you’d no longer be scared into buying their "beautifying" and "standard of life raising" products. I’m not against capitolism (bullshit, I hate capitolism), I’m just against the death and demons that currently run the planet. People wake up! The big wake up call is coming and it’s coming fast. Believe it. We’ve had our good little run but babylon will fall, and fall hard. I’m not talking any religious dogma either. I’m talking about serious changes in the way we live. Not just the environment, not just poverty, not just the militarization of modern society, not just the meeting of our insistent empire with more and more resistence thoughout the globe, I’m talking about everything. All at once. I don’t know if doomsday proficies and revelations are coincidences or just enevitable outcomes obvious to a few insightful writers of the past, but one thing’s for sure. The oil is running out on the planet (do your homework), the environment is "all fucked up", weapons manufucturing is one of the highest grossing industries on the planet, and the "new world order" ol’ president bush talked about in the 80’s is coming into shape. And we the people, well, we’re more oblivious to these simple facts then ever.
These things and more are what my music is about. But the main premise is solutions. Revolution included but I perfer the term Revo-Solutionary. I think that there is a certain world view currently brewing on the earth that if properly cultivated and spread could bring about an astronomical paradigm shift. Which would be the beginning of the world system that some of us have always invisioned to be possible. Anarchy. Meaning no need for a government. People already build systems for: economies, industries, barter, trade, laws & orders. Regionally. The government isn’t necessary for this, although a lifetime of programming might make it incredibly hard for you to accept this. All the government has ever done (besides adding buracracy to everything) is tax and profit from these systems that humans instinctively create on their own.
All you really need to know about me is in my music. And that’s love. But if you want to know more musical background I’ll give you a little sum’n sum’n. I’ve been performing for over 10 years. I love to perform and am a natural at doing so (if I do say so myself).
