As Universal Hall Pass, Melissa R. Kaplan has released the EP "Subtle Things" as a follow up to her debut album, “Mercury”. Her voice and vocal arrangements can be heard on film soundtracks (Titan A.E., The Red Planet, K-PAX, Mr. Woodcock, among others), video games (Kayne and Lynch: Dead Men, Assassin’s Creed 1 & 2, Frequency, Phase, Amplitude, Chronicles of Spellborn), and television (Masters of Horror, Charmed, Angel, Taken in Broad Daylight).

M is also former front person and one of the three co-writers from Boston’s electronic pop trio Splashdown. (Adam Buhler, Kasson Crooker, M. Kaplan).

Her love of music crosses many genres. Experimental, rock, electronic, jazz, Bulgarian, and music of the Middle East.

At present she continues to write in collaboration with Kasson Crooker of Symbion Project which has a forthcoming release due in Autumn of 2009 and collaborates with UK composer Simon Swarbrick. New UHP music is also in the works.
