Stomp Records was founded way back in 1994 with the release of the now legendary All-Skanadian Club Volume 1 compilation. The whole idea behind Stomp was to give the growing number of Canadian ska bands a home where they could get the support they deserved and hook up with other bands across North America.

Shortly after the release of the All-Ska 1, the Planet Smashers released their first self-titled album which met with tons of critical acclaim. Releases from The Kingpins, Flashlight, The Undercovers, JFK & The Conspirators, Skavenjah among others followed along with two more installments in the All-Skanadian series and follow up albums from The Planet Smashers, The Kingpins and Bedouin Soundclash.

As Stomp began to broaden it's horizon US bands like The New York Ska Jazz Ensemble, The Toasters and Chris Murray joined the roster. After nearly 13 years of blood , sweat and a lot of tears, you can find Stomp releases in Canada, The USA, South America, Japan, Australia and all of Europe.

Stomp prides itself on being a truly independent, artist-friendly label that works way more like a family than a business. With a slew of new releases and tours planned from a bunch of incredibly talented ska bands coming up in the next year, Stomp continues to promote and release quality ska music in all it's varying styles regardless of current musical trends.

Union 2112 Records started back in '98 when the boys from Stomp Records hooked up with the 2112 Records crew and basically pooled forces to put out great punk records. The label launched with a compilation called "The State Of The Union Volume 1" which showcased the bands from both the Stomp and 2112 roster including The Planet Smashers, Reset, Jah Cutta, Men'osteel, The Undercovers and many more.

Being a union of two labels, the obvious choice for a name was Union 2112 Records. Since it's inception, Union 2112 has released over 30 discs from a varying mix of bands from all over the world. Guttermouth (USA), Nicotine (Japan), The Flatliners (CDN), Snuff (UK), Down By Law (USA)and Belvedere (Canada), The Resistance (CDN) and Ann Beretta (USA) just to name a few. For the past few years the Union has celebrated it's anniversary at the Vans Warped Tour with The Union Stage and has showcased bands like Bigwig, Big D & The Kids Table, Mustard Plug, Alexisonfire and Jersey along with many other bands on the roster.

The Union's continuing goal is to keep hooking up with great hardworking bands and bring their music to as many people as possible.

As a proud member of the Union Label Group (home of Stomp Records and Union 2112 Records), Mayday Records is pleased to bring you new releases and re-releases from Canada's legendary punk rock heroes The Ripcordz along with compilations from the best street punk bands from coast to coast.

The label launched with the Mayday! records sampler that featured oi! and streetpunk bands from across Canada. You may not be familiar with all the bands on the comp but one thing's for sure; they all rock like thunder. Mayday! has also released and re-released some great discs by legendary Canadian street punk rockers The Ripcordz... The label's pretty much dedicated to putting out Ripcordz material these days. Damn do we ever love that band.
