In the year 2000, we formed Underground Alliance (UNDALI) by hosting and promoting our own underground hip hop nights. We did this in response to an industry flooded with manufactured, uninspiring pop groups and a lack of focus on urban UK talent. Over the years we have grown from a group of 4 aspiring hip hop DJs to a highly diverse collective of artists, writers and musicians, releasing our own material and putting on shows throughout the country.

After a series of basement mixtapes (Underground Alliance-Basementality on cassette; DefDFirez- Cabin Fever on cassette and Beat Brickies- The Mix on CD) we released Basementality 2, a 24 track compilation album of original underground material early in 2004.

The CD was followed later that year by two 12 releases: Underground Alliance- Basementality E.P. Part 1 (a compilation with four of the most popular tracks from previous releases) and Skrein- Mind Out/Once upon a Skrein (a solo venture from the groups most diligent rapper). We brought that year to an end by putting on our own mini promotional tour, performing at seven different cities and towns from Newcastle to Brighton.

Early 2005 saw the second solo venture from the UNDALI crew with Prem C's 5 Senses of Def, a collaboration with Foreign Beggars producer Dag Nabbit. That was swiftly followed by the first Beat Brickies solo venture with DJ Moodie's 'Construction Skills' that contained 90% original material from UNDALI members and collaborations with artists such as Skinnyman, Task Force and Foreign Beggars. Both releases received excellent feedback from the media (see artist pages for more info).

Later that year we dropped a limited edition 7" called 'Idols' from Skrein and MUD FAM's Supar Novar. A scathing attack on substandard US artists and rallying call to support the UK soldiers. "They come for a couple grand and a stamp on their passport, never make me feel how I feel when I see task force".

2006 sees debut releases from Thre with the "Brace Yourself" E.P. and Blunted Needles' "Sharpest Tool In The Box" Mix CD. Both are guaranteed to blow up big time, check www.myspace.com/mcthre to see the 'Brace Yourself' video- serious underground ish.

Also in the pipeline look out for the Skreintax Album on Dented Records, a collaboration between Skrein & Dr. Syntax featuring some heavyweight production from the likes of Dag Nabbit, Stevie Ebola, GhosTTown and cuts from Nonames, DJIQ and the Beat Brickies. Skriein, Prem C, DJ Moodie and Thre all have solo albums close to completion, though its too early to predict release dates.

Due to the groups size and geographical diversity we are currently working on a lot of solo material to nurture and hone each of the individual artists different style. We hope to have an officially released Underground Alliance album this time next year, showcasing the groups true essence with input from all group members and a full scale tour to promote it.

All our releases are available via mail order from www.headnod.co.uk or as downloads from www.karmadownload.com. We also have strong ties with stores in Brighton and London, check out our website www.undali.com for more info.
