Unai is the one-man-effort of Erik Möller, living in Uppsala, Sweden. Since the mid-nineties he's been spreading his unique form of minimal dubhouse disco on labels like Force Tracks (GER), Naked Music (USA), Disco Inc (GER) Sub Static (GER), Raum...Musik (GER), Punkt Music (GER), and many more. Unai has earned great critical acclaim from both DJ's and magazines worldwide reaching into the charts and DJ-bags of people like Michael Mayer, Tiefschwarz, Steve Bug, Dave Mothersole, Matthias Shaffhäuser, Håkan Lidbo, Swayzak and many, many more. In 2001 Unai also was nominated to a Swedish Grammy for best club/dance album of the year 2001 with the debut album "Rebel swing", an album that ended up on many best-of-the-year-lists that year.

As the years have progressed Unai have gone from a stripped down minimal sound to warmer funk-infused discotroniks, and more and more often he lets his voice out, both on record and live. A voice that is much more than just another instrument, but a whole extra emotional dimension. German label Kompakt even compared his voice to that of 80's star Terence Trent D'arby (oh yes it's true!)

During the years he's lent his remixing skills to numerous artists among them Ernesto, Boy Robot, Soultek and Christoffermusik (Hird). He's also been remixed by luminaries such as Trentemöller, René Breitbarth, Martinez and John Dahlbäck.

This year, 2006, Unai returns with his second album "A love moderne". An album that already has received praise all around the globe. New York Times described it as an "early contender for electronic music album of the year". A hint of what was to come could already be heard in his single from 2003: "I like your style". A song that increased his following by the size of a small country's population and reached far beyond the dance floor, sweeping with it indie/electropop-fans and super-dj's alike.

On this new album we hear his evolution out in full bloom. On "A Love Moderne" Unai sounds like the unknown lovechild of Pet Shop Boys' Neil Tennant and Basic Channel's Moritz von Oswald It's about loving aristocratic pop as much as bunker techno, about believing that these two together makes the most beautiful of modern love.

The clash is most obvious on cuts like "Heart is to the left", "Youngkiss" and "Blissful burden", where stripped to the bone electronics meets heartaching pop head on. But it's written all over the face of hits like "Oh you and I" and "I like your style" too. On top of this you get the cut up future disco of "Moderne love" and "Lucky bastard", not to mention the grand finale of glacial ambient pop "Exit wounds". If there's a wave of techno pop that slowly but surely has been rising in the last few years, Unai and "A Love Moderne" is truly the crest of it.

Erik also has released a number of records under other names of which the haunting acoustic electronica of Spinform is probably most widely known.
