Tsunami w Japoni, Japan Tsunami 2011.Trzęsienie ziemi u wybrzeży Honsiu. Trzęsienie ziemi u wybrzeża Pacyfiku w regionie Tōhoku) – trzęsienie ziemi o sile 9 stopni w skali Richtera, które nastąpiło 11 marca 2011 roku o 5:46 UTC (14:46 JST), w północno-wschodniej części Japonii, na wschód od miasta Sendai.
Trzęsienie ziemi w Japonii, zdaniem naukowców z Narodowego Instytutu Geofizyki i Wulkanologii, przesunęło oś Ziemi o co najmniej 10 cm. Natomiast NASA twierdzi, że skrócił się także dzień o 1,6 mikrosekundy. Trzęsienie ziemi przesunęło też Honsiu o 2,4 m, a płyty tektoniczne obniżyły się o ponad 18 metrów.
Następstwem trzęsienia ziemi były potężne, ponad 10-metrowe (w niektórych miejscach osiągnęły 29,6 metra wysokości

Spowodowana trzęsieniem fala tsunami uszkodziła elektrownię atomową w Fukushimie, powodując najdroższą katastrofę naturalną w historii.

Katastrofa, która rozpoczęła się tam 11 marca 2011 roku, wcale nie została opanowana. Taki wizerunek wpoiły nam tylko mainstreamowe media, a skoro nic już o tym nie mówią, to zdecydowana większość osób uznała, że problem nie istnieje i kryzys jądrowy w Japonii został zażegnany. Nic bardziej mylnego...
Szacuje się, że do 2016 r. radioaktywnej wody będzie dużo, bardzo dużo - około 800 tys. ton. Na razie gromadzona jest w specjalnych zbiornikach na terenie elektrowni, ale nikt nie wie, co będzie dalej. Co gorsza, zbiorniki te, przygotowywane w pośpiechu, co jakiś czas się rozszczelniają, powodując miejscowy wzrost promieniowania.

Pod koniec sierpnia TEPCO poinformowało, że dziennie z Fukushimy do wody trafia promieniotwórczy izotop wodoru - tryt - o aktywności 15 Gbq (15 mld rozpadów na sekundę). Jest to równoważnik 600 kg kanadyjskiej rudy uranu (zawierającej 15 proc. uranu). Oczywiście ten tryt rozprzestrzenia się w oceanie, ale także paruje jako superciężka woda (DTO i D2O), a potem opada z deszczem.

The 2011 earthquake off the Pacific coast of Tōhoku was a magnitude 9.0 (Mw) undersea megathrust earthquake off the coast of Japan that occurred at 14:46 JST (05:46 UTC) on Friday 11 March 2011, with the epicentre approximately 70 kilometres (43 mi) east of the Oshika Peninsula of Tōhoku and the hypocenter at an underwater depth of approximately 30 km (19 mi).The earthquake is also often referred to in Japan as the Great East Japan earthquake and also known as the 2011 Tohoku earthquake, and the 3.11 earthquake. It was the most powerful earthquake ever recorded to have hit Japan, and the fourth most powerful earthquake in the world since modern record-keeping began in 1900. The earthquake triggered powerful tsunami waves that reached heights of up to 40.5 metres (133 ft) in Miyako in Tōhoku's Iwate Prefecture, and which, in the Sendai area, travelled up to 10 km (6 mi) inland.
