Originally born Patricia Barracks (aka Trish Barnes),the only daughter of
a Jamaican mother and father who fled the West Indies in the early 80's in
search of the American Dream. Trish and family would settle in a section of
north Philadelphia called Nicetown. Growing up in the mean streets of philly;
surrounded by drug dealers, crime, and hard times would only become the fuel
for this young fiery Mc.
As the sounds of Kool G Rap's "Road 2 the Riches",Rakims "Microphone Fein",
and EPMD's "SO What U Sayn'" thumped out of her older brother's speakers
religiously. Trish would become a sponge and absorb everything she heard as a
child. As she got older her intrest grew and at the tender age of 12 she would
begin to pen some of her fist rhymes. Around the time of the Biggie and Pac era
Trish would become heavily influenced by the 2 rap powerhouses and really begin
sparking as a hott mc.
During a summer in the late 90's a local radio station Q102 hosted a series
of battles over the phone by radio joc Zulu "Tha One Man Gang". Now a young
Trish rapping under the name of Chyna Wyte called the station to test her
lyrical sword. For 3 weeks straight she would slaughter competition & win a
chance to battle the champ who today is known as Cassidy but back then it was
known simply as B. As fate would have it Trish would suffer a loss. This
defeat would not derail the young mc but only motivate her.
In weeks to come she would meet a street promotor named Duce who was said to
have industry contacts. Within a year Duce would set-up meetings with Swiss
Beats, Steve Stoute, and even Dr.Dre. Following an impressive display Dre gave
Trish 2 track 2 write to but differences between Duce and Trish would cutt the
trip to Cali short.
Back on the eastcoast frustrated and uncertain what to do Trish would meet a
new jack street manager named Millionz who would become very instrumental.
While working with another artist that scored a deal with Interscope Trish
would get a chance to be a feature artist on a song prod. by the legendary
Clark Kent. About a year later she would jump on a mixtape called the movement 2 as a featured arist on a song called It's A Mission. This song would soon start a buzz in the streets. Wasteing no time Trish began to work on her own debut mixtape called Ms. Untouchable. Ms Untouchable scroched the streets and took her all the way to the hood grammies aka The mixtape awards on the anniversary of BIG POPPAS Death and the last awards we would have Justo with us RIP. This would have the streets looking for more HEET and 8 months later Trish Barnes would provide just that with her follow-up Times Up hosted by Superstar Jay. Now, with mixtape & dvd appearances heeting up the streets like a furnis in July, armed with good looks, husky voice, sic flow, and descriptive street tales TRISH BARNES is definetly on target for a major record deal as well as an artist to watch for in 08
