MAURICE DELOACH, aka DJ AKTIVE a native of West Philadelphia, has dedicated a lot of time and energy studying and practicing to become a disc jockey. As long as he can remember music has always been a major part of his life. At an early age he began to take note of how much music meant to so many people, and how adding music to any environment can change the entire

atmosphere. He began to listen to music with that in mind. While listening to any song he began to think of another song that he could blend to make that song sound even better. This was just one of the skills that made him a DJ that is known for packing a dance floor.



Maurice began cutting in 1992 and as his reputation grew, he became the feature DJ for parties at his high school. He became known for his scratching techniques, and was so fast that people began to call him AKTIVE and it stuck. This prompted him to enter various DJ contests to showcase his talents. The exposure from the contests created a buzz and he was offered guest appearances on prominent Philadelphia radio stations. This led to him getting a lot of gigs at local parties and events, which made him a house hold name on the Philly party scene. After rocking the party scene, DJ Aktive began to tour with Def Soul recording artist MUSIQ SOULCHILD. He brings his unique style of scratching and mixing to live performances. . He participated in the Philadelphia Regional East Coast DMC Finals in 1994, and also won the 1999 Kool Mix Spin Off National Championship in Nashville Tennessee. DJ Aktive has worked with some of the top names in the business, such as The Roots, Organized Confusion, NAS, Floetry, Gang Starr, the Beat Nuts, and Mobb Deep to name a few. The DJ has always been an important element in hip-hop culture, with that in mind DJ Aktive is ready to show the world his unique style of DJing. This style is a combination of playing the right music to pack the dance floor while using innovative scratch and blend techniques that will definitely take music to another level.
