[bass cover] Tribal Tech - Nite Club (Gary Willis) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 07, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
This is a note-by-note transcription & bass cover of the 'Nite Club' track by Tribal Tech (Reality Check album, bass by Gary willis)

This is an old-time favorite of mine, learned about it in music college but never got around to *really* checking it out in depth.
Gary has his own unique style (which of course has undeniable Pastorius influences) but his articulation and use of dynamics is something I need to check out even better.

I'm not at ease as much on the fretless as on my fretted instruments and while reading I don't have the time to look at my right hand so there's parts where my intonation is off, I know that and sorry for that.
This is another super-fun track to learn and play, there's some really nice subtle changes he makes to recurring phrases and how he can make that bass sing is just beyond my capabilities.

(the technical stuff for those interested: 1991 Ernie Ball MusicMan StingRay5 fretless with d'Addario XL5's, Radial JDI into computer, no compression - rolled off a little highs en boosted a little mid and low, using only the bridge pickup)

I do not own any rights to the music, this video is just made for educational purposes
