A look back at a tragic life, sometimes sentimental, sometimes harsh, this is both the simplest and the most complex movement with the simplest and most complex themes. It is sometimes delicate, sometimes moving, sometimes sad and sometimes dark and biting. We look back at Ophelia. This seems to end abruptly - if played in concert it will continue on into the 5th movement.
