The Cross of Jesus WAS a terrible Cross. The first thing that springs to your mind is death, blood, cruelty, torture. But at the same time, to those who have accepted Jesus as their Saviour, it is also a beautiful Cross, for there the Love of God shone in all its Glory to fallen mankind, offering a way of escape from judgement and showing the path of eternal life.
