"As for the Topangas, well, if this stuff doesn't get the Santa Ana winds blowing through your hair.nothing will. Great song writing, vocals and band. A rollicking blast of sun drenched tequila soaked Americana which combines Tex-Mex Zydeco, and rock 'n' roll in a way that is completely classic and fresh as tomorrow."
Richard Bennett - Nashville, Tennessee
(Producer: Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris, Marty Stuart, Mark Knopfler, the Mavericks, Texas Tornados)

The Topangas is a new band of seasoned musicians whose tequila-soaked, sun-drenched rollicking Tex-Mex-Tejano Country Rock has been gaining ground and winning over audiences via the airwaves and their highly charged live shows. A spicy repertoire of classic-sounding dance and party-friendly Tex-Mex, Zydeco and hot latin-flavored country rockin' songs are what sets them apart from the pack"Stopped by and was blown away again.like Renn is Roy Orbison singing with the Sir Douglas Quintet!" Though they tip their musical hat fondly to California where Renn was raised from a young age; The Topangas actually have their origins in the tradewind-kissed turquoise sea tropics of the Hawaiian islands (where Renn was born), the ancient mysterious otherworldly deserts of Arizona, and Colorado's mythically majestic Rocky Mountains.

Songs that have been forged from the countless open roads, beckoning highways, and vast wilderness of the American Southwest.

"Sometimes it takes an outside perspective to see and appreciate
what the locals have long taken for granted. The Topangas are from
Norway, but you'd swear they had a cabin off Old Topanga Road.
They take you straight down that still lonely desert highway to
Sedona, and the steel, twanging guitar, and sweet harmonies
bring us all back to the hills of 1970, when the getting was
good and hope blossomed in the vines. Sneaky Pete would
be proud."Paul Lacques, I See Hawks In L.A.

"Therein lies the key to good songwriting." "It's irrelevant who the song was written about. If a song can't be universal, then you haven't written a good song."
