OUT ON HOGBACK ROAD (original version) (Mentzer)

Tico was a boy, stone cold crazy
The day he turned 19
A little of this, a little of that
And some of what might have been
He turned deaf ears on the whole wide world
For the best deal that he'd seen

Tico had a problem, too bad
So he thought he'd lighten his load
He traded his cash for some china white
Out on hogback road

Tico's whole life was flashed before him
Sittin' overnight in the can
The boy got busted, stone cold guilty
A quarter pound of heroin
They let him go, yeah they set him free
Tico spilled his guts to the man

Tico had a problem, too bad
So he thought he'd lighten his load
He whispered in the ear of a government man
Out on hogback road

Well two things are sure, death and taxes
But 6% of nothing's still zip
Maybe things don't add up right
When you're on a one-way trip
They stabbed and they shot him a hundred times
I guess he should have buttoned his lip

Tico had a problem, too bad
So he thought he'd lighten his load
Tico broke a deal with the devil that night
Out on hogback road

Tico had a problem, too bad
So he thought he'd lighten his load
Broke his deal with the devil that night
Out on hogback road

Tico had a problem, too bad
So he thought he'd lighten his load
Turned his back on a demon from hell
Out on hogback road
